If you want to talk ASUN smack or ramble ad nauseum about your favorite pro or major college teams, this is the place to let it rip.

Anyone catch the US v. Mexico game? Although I'll continue to say the US is probably the most frustrating team in the world to watch, it was a fun game to watch. And the crowd was amazing.

I completely didn't know the game was on, and it was on during Carolina/Duke so I missed it. I hate that.

I love how soccer is the one sport where it's ok for random people to post idiotic statements about how bad the sport is. It doesn't happen for any of the other sports, just soccer.

I was there on the baseline just beside the goal where the US scored all three of their goals in the first half (Dempsey wasn't offsides as the replay clearly showed). I followed them down to the other end for much less action in the second half. It wasn't as electric as the last time I saw these two play each other at Reliant Stadium about four years ago. But 60k+ caught up in every change of possession was legitimately entertaining.

I admit that over the course of the past five years I have developed a real taste for major soccer events. I love these USA-Mexico friendlies because the players can't stand each other and neither can the fans. I shot a brawl in the stands just as we were all leaving the field and then apparently the guys I shot went outside and started a gunfight close to where some buddies of mine were doing a live shot.

I'm also down with Houston Dynamo games. They are a blast to attend. Hating on soccer is too played out. I could give or take the game itself on the field (more give than take) but I love the bigtime soccer atmosphere.

I just found out tonight that one of the kids I coach in my son's 5-year-old league is the daughter of one of the Dynamo assistant coaches. My life is about to get much easier. 8)

Since somebody brought up the topic, I guess I have an excuse to upload a few pics off of my point & click ...

And in case you were wondering, USA Soccer limited video photography to the first 15 minutes of each half. So I just popped out my still camera the rest of the time. There were about a half dozen English-speaking media and an army of crews from Univision, Telemundo and Mexico.

Yeah, it's just been all downhill for them since 1836.

Ditto.

Although I admit I like watching countries play against each other. But that's about it.

No, but the idea of the Monument Cafe sounds good right now. You & I are probably about the only posters on here who get the joke.
