...is DII Chowan University in 2009.

Too bad they didn't schedule LU for ODU's first home game.

Why would you schedule the Flames when the mighty Hawks are available? Its a no brainer.

I guess they wanted a sure win for their first game.

Id love to see ODU and LU match up on the gridiron. Im surprised AD Barber has not been talking to teh folks at ODU about a series or something

Are you sure we have had no communication with ODU?

Well Im not on the inside so we may very well be in the midst of or have had dialogue with ODU about getting a series going. If that is the case that would be most excellent. As we improve I think itd be great to get some rivalries going with in-state schools out of conference. I mean look at what happened with us and William and Mary.

Its my understanding that we've talked. But ODU is acting as if they are an FBS power or something.

Yeah, I had heard from someone on this board that ODU was acting like a prima-donna, and they weren't going to agree to do a home-and-home set. So essentially, they wanted a team to head to hostile ground for the privilege of playing them.

In the words of a high school girl, "as if!"

Presby thought the same thing--until they played LU and a few other BSC schools. :exactly

Not a big deal, but BJ if you dont know whats going on dont pretend you do. People who dont know alot like me just assume Barber hasnt even looked into it, when if fact we have talked.

So instead of "Barber doesnt want to play ODU" it really is "Barber doesnt want to go to their place with no return"

Also, BJ, I'm not so sure you understand how an athletic department works. Barber oversees everything, but he's not the one doing the talking on every single scheduling idea. That comes down to the coach and (in this case) Director of Football Operations.

Probably just a rumor circulating after someone mentioned wanting to smoke a Canadian goose at an LU tailgate party. :tailgate

Thanks for clearing that up Sch14 and SJ. Suffice to say I can understand them not wanting to do a one-way deal. As for the pretending like Im a know-it-all, I honestly dont mean to come off like that. I know I do sometimes but it isnt intended
