I know I will get accused of being a homer for this one but St. Joes Hawks have the best mascot in college hoops. The guy has to flap his wings the whole time he is on the court, during timeouts, half time during free thows, the whole game! It is an honor and you have to be in really good shape to be the Hawk there and it is a good tradition. Anyone that was at the 2004 Men's NCAA in Buffalo (LUConn) got to see it in person. I think our Eagle should adopt that but instead of making a sweeping circle like the Hawk, maybe just flap up and down with his arms out. I know that won't happen but it would be fun to see.

Dude, I hate that freaking hawk. It was a little annoying glancing over at him once and a while and see him doing his dumb circle arm flap but the St. Joes fans we were stuck in between kept bragging about how great he was. I was more than a little adjitated at the time (we were getting stomped and they kept trying to make me feel better about it) and I don't want to hear how great your dumb mascot is for flapping his wings for 2.5 hours! So ever since then he gets on my nerves to no end. I'm gonna go to a game of theirs one day and make him stop. Hold his arms down or something.

I'd advise against that, esp in Philly.
