OK! This is where some of you will really call me nuts, but I'm OK with that!
I really Hate big cities, and have always said that I will Never go to New York.
I Really hate the Yankees.
However, I have a dilema. The Padres are Playing a 4 game stand this year in Yankee Stadium (the last year for the old stadium). I am a big time Baseball fan and love the nostalgia of the game. But I REALLY don't want to go to NYC!

So tell me why I should or should not go!

See, that's just it, it's more like a phobia. When I go to DC or Whereever, I get very uneasy and uptight, and nervous.
But there is some hatred too.

Are you agoraphobic? I'm asking seriously. I mean, that sounds like a problem.

I went to NYC for the first time last year and had a great time, even with my small town rural background. If it were me, I'd definitely go.

Just get someone to go and hold your hand.

You know I was planning on going to Yankee stadium this year.

Very nice, I was kidding about the phobia. I just like a slower pace and fewer people crammed in my face. I go to big venues (football and bnasketball arenas and stadiums for pro and college) to work so it's not like I can't function and even relax, I can. I just don't like the feel of a DC or NYC. Anyway, I didn't mean this to be a counseling session, just tell me why or whynot!

Believe it or not, NYC is a great city. I am going there in Feb for a few days with the wife. I am going to take a tour of Yankee Stadium since it won't be around much longer. I am used to big cities, growing up in Miami so it was not a big deal for me to go there but it actually is a neat place to visit.

it is a great place to go and visit, i've been there several times

Don't let your experience in DC make up your mind about NYC. DC is not like most cities, and most cities are not like New York. If it's just for a visit, you'll love it there. Go, and stop being a wuss.

Just find a native New Yorker who likes baseball to go with you.

I refuse to ever go to NY unless it's required for my job. even then I'd try to weasel my way out of it. As long as the Yankees are in NYC I refuse to go lol

It ain't a bad city.....But I really ain't into baseball these days, so I try not to attend a Yankees or Mets game.....I really don't hate neither franchise neither.....
I actually watched more Newark Bears games when I lived in Jersey City.....

If you really don't want to go to the Bronx, then don't. Just root for the Padres when they face the Yankees. If you are going, you can take me. I've never been to Yankee Stadium, and I've been around NYC a few times, but I don't really care that much about baseball, LOL, I just watch it.

Knuckle, you might want to check into one of those charter bus trips: that way, you can leave the driving to them. They could probably drop you off right in front of the stadium and then pick you up after the game.

Ahh, suck it up. The driving isn't that bad as long as you REALLY know where you are going. I have been there twice in the past two years and I managed to get through it with my wife who had to quickly learn how to navigate (she's not much of a map person).

Don't pass up on the opportunity.

New York isn't that bad....I just hate the Yanks but I would go just for the meaning of the game itself

I hate the Yankees too but that's not going to stop me from visiting one of the meccas of baseball lore in its final season. If you are a true baseball fan, then there are five places you should watch a baseball game before you die. Consider this your "bucket list" of baseball.

1. Wrigley Field
2. Yankee Stadium
3. Fenway Park
4. St. Louis
5. Dodger Stadium

I have yet to watch a baseball game in any of these places, although I took a tour of Fenway once.
