I can't believe that no one has started a thread about UVa giving up 17 points in the last 3 minutes to lose the Gator Bowl to Texas Tech. Any thoughts or observations from those who watched the game on TV?

My emotions during the game:

i was just figuring i would let Smoothie do the honors....i figured he had a medic styled rant to go off on....

Needless to say I was disappointed. UVA had their foot on TT's throat after the first half...Even with Simpson getting hurt, they still could have basically crushed it in the second half. and they open 08 at home with USC so they are going to have a lot to think about the next few months.

As a UVa alum, I still had to cringe when I read this quote by 20-something Chris Long in today's local fishwrap:

"It's the worst feeling in the world to lose a football game."

Is someone on Smooth-watch? He hasn't been around since the loss...

Im sure he is cooling off because Im sure he was quite hot after the game. As a side note, did anyone that watched teh game catch halftime? The LCA band was down there to play with some other bands for the halftime show.

yeah they just took me off suicide watch!! anyway...it is typical UVA fashion to lose that way. any true wahoo fans knows this. though im happy with the year, it would have been so much better to win that game. my problem was the play calling on the last series, and of course that one fumble on tx. tech that was not reviewed that cost us. oh well maybe next year.

That was my exact quote when I called my dad after the game.

UVA caught the Hokie Chokie bug (yes, I am a VT fan admitting that we have problems with choking-especially in big games)...just don't give it back in time for the Orange Bowl.
