Seriously, how bad is he at announcing games? Give me your ideas. I couldn't think of creative one-liners, so I'm asking for them from anyone describing how bad he is.

Is Keith Jackson still available?

I liked him on the Today Show, but when it comes to broadcasting athletic events, Gumble is no Timmy Scarborough.

He is BRUTAL...
...and the NFL Network wants more interest...heck...the nation will know how bad he is.

he's the worst announcer i've ever heard.

Let's put it this way...I can't remember what bowl I was watching but I find Terry Gannon a more interesting broadcaster than Bryant Gumbel (and Gannon is known more as a figure skating announcer)

I'd rather listen to Joe Morgan, Tim McCarver, and Theisman together calling a game.

Matt Vasgersian is the only good NFL broadcaster on TV.

I like Matt on my baseball video game I know that...Gumbel is horrible. There i said it. I feel bad for Chris Collingsworth because he is pretty good. I think Bryant comes off as a high society stuffed shirt trying to relate to us common folks and not doing a very good job. Most of these guys are millionaire on TV or at least doing ok financially but Gumbel comes off as a Country Club member or something.

My favorite was when he started making 3 Stooges noises.

well bryant gumbel just doesn't seem to be knowledgable about football... i feel like its a joe schmoe who is good with words in the booth...

and as smart as chris collinsworth is....he makes comments in a "i know more than you and your opinion is stupid and invalid" way....and it annoys me...

To use a quote I heard once:

"I'd rather pull my pubic hair out one by one as opposed to listening to Bryant Gumble call a football game."

Gumbel brings much needed class to the booth. And he is better than Greg. I actually think he looked good the other night and has shaken that pompous image that I think he had on the Today show.

bryant better than greg?? are you kidding?? greg is a sports guy..bryant is not

I say just hire Frank Caliendo and he can do his John Madden. It would be both comical and entertaining
