Will anyone be glued to their TVs next weekend for the NFL Draft? Virginia Tech and UVa should be represented well. Tech could have 5 guys drafted.

I'll be at the Texans Draft party turning a story for our Draft Special that evening. It should be a dun day. Its how the NFL keeps itself in the spotlight and it away from the NBA & NHL Playoffs.

I'll be in Baltimore watching Orioles v. Seahawks

They're the Mariners. In case you didn't understand the jokes in the other thread, the Seahawks play football.

I hope you're just running with the joke now...

I'm a huge draft fan even though I really don't follow college football too much. But I might not be able to see it. It's still up in the air.

I just hope the packers don't draft a RB.

Tech should have the following guys drafted or atleast signed: Jimmy Williams, Daryl Tapp, James Anderson, Jeff King, Cedric Humes, and another lineman that I can't think of.

I'm preapring for the thunderous boos at the Texans Draft party when Mario Williams' name is being announced.

Never in the history of sports has there ever been a more unpopular first round draft pick than Williams. This is mindboggling.

sly, im baffled too. did the bush allegations figure in??? i know ESPN does not think so, but im sure you have an inside scoop. i am really curious as to where bush goes now. the texans continue to disappoint. williams is a good player, but you cannot pass on bush.

And this coming from an ACC honk.

Seriously, I am headed out the door to Reliant Stadium. I'll give you their best excuses later this evening.

Im curious as to how loud the boos were when they announced Mario Williams as the #1 pick instead of Reggie Bush (which so many of the pundits and radio heads said was a lock)

We (the I-AA community) had 4 guys get picked today. There'll prolly be some more picked tomorrow.

Will a team give Marcus Vick a chance on Sunday? Be interesting to see.

was that pick as unpopular as McNabb???? They booooooooed like there was no tomorrow when he was drafted

Sly can you confirm that people are actually calling and demanding refunds for season tickets? I heard that on the radio but I didnt know the validity of it......also did any of the players make it to the draft party (current, not drafted)

I'm sure fans are calling but I doubt they get a penny back. There were probably 10k inside Reliant and nearly all came to boo. The funny thing is when Vince was picked by the Old Oilers third, the place exploded with cheers. Bizarre.

I feel sorry for Mario because he is going to have to live with being compared to Vince & Reggie forever. Of course all that money can help ease the pain.

There were a bunch of players at the draft party. I used Andre Johnson and one of the CBs in my story for our Draft Special.

Something like that. He'll be good. I think he'll be the guy to follow Favre.

I thought it was funny that they booed when Marcus Vick wasn't picked as Mr Irrelevant!! There were a lot of Hokies that went today.
