UVa at number 11--ahead of Notre Dame, Tennessee, LSU, Penn State, etc; better yet, Va Tech didn't make the list.

Surprised that Georgetown & Cornell made the list.

Yeah, I think we tend to focus only on the major sports, & forget about the others.

However, I was shocked that NC State didn't make that list....I mean, back-to-back national championships in bass fishing....that's tough to do.

this has to focus on all sports, because there is no way UVA would be #11 without all those national championships in soccer and lacrosse. VT is not on there because they care about football only..plus zero national championships in any sport.

it's one year kevin. ohio state is not a traditional soccer power, plus im sure this came out before the soccer tournament started.

Stanford not #1 = no credability
UNC and Texas beat the Cardinal because most of their rankings came in small participation sports.
That's a dumb reason.

Very true. I'm not too in-tune with the soccer world, plus I didn't know when this study was done. Penn State won the national championship in women's volleyball just last week and in the report it states they are ranked 3rd I think. So your statement makes sense.

Any list that gives the same weight to cross country and fencing that it does to football and basketball is worthless.
