That's definitely a step down. He did a great job at Ole Miss and got fired after Eli Manning left. That firing did not turn out too well for the Rebels.

Depends on how he is allowed to recruit....could be good...could be a disaster

i agree about the recruiting thing..
fumble, are you saying its a step down for the coach or for duke? i think its great for duke, i mean if anyone can do anything with duke he should be able to, and it isn't hard to make duke fball fans happy

I think it is a step down. Cutcliffe surely could have done better...he was a successful head coach in the SEC. This is a huge coup for Duke (but I only root for them in MBB).

it may seem like a step down, but he got a pay raise from 340,000 to 1.5 mil. i'd take that too. and they told him to get whoever he needs on staff, the money will be there. If they let him recruit, this could be the beginning of duke football like we haven't seen in many years. i don't expect to compete for the acc championship, but i think duke may have a winning season soon, and that is a huge step up

i think any coach besides the one we have is a step in the right direction (whether it's a step up or down or wherever).

i'm devoted, but a sucker to giving duke football another chance every year. at least with a new coach i'll be a little more excited about giving yet another chance this year.

Im just messing...they are a pretty solid team but I think my Hoosiers got it this year and then there is the best mid major the Butler Bulldogs....A.J. Graves is nasty
