Sports all have oddities that are either rumored to be true or factual...we all know a few so I figured let's try to post them all in one thread so maybe I'll learn something I never knew...

I'll start....if you want to become a millionaire develop a machine that can stitch up a baseball, they have yet to be able to make one that does not cause blisters on pitchers hands...as of right now the leather is placed in a box with a wound ball and sent over seas and hand sewn...yes...every baseball you see in MLB or MiLB is hand sewn...heck every baseball you see used for more than a novelty item

wait, so what does this have to do with blisters? Is it because the human element ads imperfections?

no the blisters come when machines sew the balls...when humans sew them they are good. (I know you would think the opposite but it's not)
