23 months in prison...and I'm guessing its minus the 3 weeks he's already served as a result of surrendering earlier?

Is it really out of the realm of possibility that he will play again? I hope so. However he is only 27. That would mean he would get out around Aug or Sept of '09 with time already served right? So he would be 30 in 2010 when he coul come back. I say we will unfortunately see him in an NFL uniform again someday. He will probably end up a Raider, Bengal, or Raven.

It would be a major PR hit to any NFL team that would sign him. I don't think we will see him back in the league.

The Dolphins took Ricky Back without blinking. The 49ers took Lawrence Phillips back after all of his law troubles after he had a big year in the NFL Europe. The Bengals didn't blink about bringing back Chris Henry, and neither will the Titans worry about Pac Man when it's time for him to come back. He'll be back mark my words. If it helps NFL owners win and make money they'll take anybody.

Probably not, but he'll never be the player he was. Case in point: Jamal Lewis. Lewis was only in for 4 months and he hasn't been the same since.

Agreed. I think he'll come back as a RB or Slot receiver.

Actually hes back up to his original numbers, before he had the one great season. Im pretty sure he also had a knee injusy before he went to jail, but im not sure. Better case, Ricky Williams

I know that, but none of those instances came remotely close to the amount of attention that Vick has gotten. None of the others had protestors and picketers at his trial dates.

No way he spends the full 23 months in jail. He'll be out my training camp 09.

Odds are that noone else in the NFL will do anything illegal in the next 23 months.

Yes, meaning he could be out in May of 09 and in theory, hit training camp some time thereafter.

But that takes into account four things:

1) He gets out on good behavior (chances of this happening: good)
2) Roger Goodell lifts the suspension on him (chances of this happening: fair)
3) One of the 32 teams picks up a contract (chances of this happening: decent)
4) He completely avoids punishment in the state charges against him, which are still pending (chances of this happening: not so much)

He still has to go thru a trial by the state of Va, no telling how much time he may get but the judge on Fox news said he could get twice the amount of time by the state. I will not shed a tear or lose any sleep if his career is over. He is lucky I am not the judge, I would have given his 60 months.

Appearently, according to ESPN, after being charged Federally, he cannot be charged by the state of VA.

do not think that is true TD...why would the commonwealth bring charges when they knew he would be sentenced before they would even go to court. i have heard that they may just run his sentences concurrently once it reaches court. i think the commonwealth is just trying to save face since the feds stepped up first. Va. had first crack at him and said there was not enough evidence.

I was reading the chat they had with David Cronwell (a lawyer; the archive has gone in to the insider section of ESPN), and he was mentioning that in the state of VA, once he's been sentenced in a federal court, he cannot be on the state-level.

I would imagine you're right though -- VA was just trying to save face through the whole thing. They missed their chance.
