I agree that smith at least deserves a look, but i don't think he will get it. Anyone who is on the verge of breaking the single season rushing record at least deserves to be considered.

Listening to somebdoy filling in for Cowherd yesterday mentioned a voter he was talking to voted for Smith #1 and then Tebow #2. So he's getting recognition, but won't win it obviously.

less explosive, less injury prone, fumbles more (poor carrying technique)

Kevin Smith has about much chance to win the Heisman as I have to win a MVP trophy in the SuperBowl.

Really? Only Seniors have won it? That isn't right, I'm certain there have been several underclassmen that have won it in the past. I'll look them up.

If you meant by underclassmen sophomore or younger, you are correct. I was under the impression that underclassmen meant anyone but a senior, is my definition wrong?

by technical definition, an underclasman is a sophomore or freshman. Juniors and seniors, at least by the national media's measure, are considered uppperclasmmen. That's why they're saying it that way.

That makes sense than. For some reason I always thought an underclassmen was anyone who isn't a senior.

Kevin Smith really should be a finalist....he has the second most yards ever for a running back in a single season yet doesn't become a finalist?? maybe its my central florida bias though, who knows
