UVa vs. Tech in C-ville

So far in the first quarter,

Tech 7
UVa 0

Biggest game in the state, and maybe in the history of the Old Dominion, and not a single post about this game until now. Do any Flame Fans care about this game, except for Smoothy and me? And, if so, which team are you pulling for?

Broadcast on ESPN2, UVa scores on a running play with about 2 minutes left in the 1st quarter:

UVa 7
Tech 10

I'm watching, but don't really care who wins. After LU, the Hokies and Hoos are dead even as my favorite D1 teams.

'Hoos take the lead in the 2nd quarter:

UVa 14
Tech 13

This has been a fun game to watch.

23-14 Hokies midway through the 3rd.

I've decided to pull for UVA on the theory that a longer tenure (and possibly more blue-chip recruits) for Groh will work to the Flame's benefit.

'Hoos score again to make it close in the 3rd quarter:

UVa 21
Tech 23

I pull for the Hokies...gotta a lot of family that are grads...but I'm not going to lie...I found myself pretty neutral....and I think Smooth was the cause...I knew he'd be there so a win would be nice  I'm now thinking I'm not much of a fan...

after watching the replay of the game, it was a very good game. that INT late in the 2nd qtr and the immed. TD pass from glennon to royal changed the momentum. as an UVA fan im proud of the team this year and 9-3 going to a good bowl is a great season after going 5-7 last year and being left for dead this year. VT proved they are better and the ACC title should be a classic.

I agree with you about the ACC title game...I just hope its a different outcome than the last couple of times BC and VT have met.

Good game I wish they would move it to a night game. Nothing like a big rival game at noon. Thought UVa could get them this yeat but Smooth was right about the TD before halftime. Just think it is funny Tech is ranked higher than KSU now.

I'm here. I didnt have access to the internet all weekend. I made the trip to C'ville, needless to say it was dissapointing. The Cavs played well, but not well enough. Too many costly mistakes. That touchdown that put the Hokies up right before half was the difference. Could never over come that. As much as I hate to admit it, UVA got beat by a better team Saturday.

IMO, the championship game won't even be close. Tech by at least 2 touchdowns. They are on a mission since losing to BC just a few weeks ago. BC is overrated.

BC is over rated, but so is Tech...this is by far the weakest the ACC has been...In my opinion there isn't a top 10 team in the ACC....the ACC championship game will be another close one between the two...but Tech is the better team at this point

ok....I was going to do that and only came up with 9...so I stand corrected...it has been a crazy season in college football...I do think the Big East may have passed the ACC this season though...not by much, but i think collectively as a conference it has....

You are way off base here. Tech and WVU are at the top of their collective conference. Tough to say who is the better team between the two.

The 2nd tier of teams are:

Big East:
Uconn (lost to UVa, beat Duke)
Cincy
USF (beat UNC)
Rutgers (lost to Maryland)

ACC:
Boston College (top 15 all year long, still there)
UVa (beat Uconn and destroyed Pitt)
Clemson (top 25)

The ACC has 2 legitimate top 15 teams, Big East 1.
ACC has 2/3 of their teams bowl eligible (8), Big East only has 5.

Get back to me after the bowl matchups between the 2 conferences.
