Those are some of the findings in a Seattle Times survey of 82 Division I coaches conducted recently. Participants included Tom Crean of Marquette, Mike Brey of Notre Dame, Bob Huggins of West Virginia, Lute Olson of Arizona, Tim Floyd of USC, Lorenzo Romar of Washington and Tony Bennett of Washington State.

I agree ... that was a fascinating survey.

But you have to admit that seeing the texting responses that the NCAA did the right thing banning them.

I disagree. You ever seen how much a typical high school student text messages in a day? Most were within the 5-20 range which could be a 10 minute conversation. I can go through nearly 100 text messages in an hour and a half drive to Martinsville. It's not hard.

No, I don't have to look at my phone to text. To me, there's no difference in texting and playing drums on the steering wheel.

here's a tip for you: ITS A PHONE. PUT IT UP TO YOUR EAR AND YOU CAN HEAR THE OTHER PERSON .

NO NEED TO TYPE OR READ ANYTHING. ITS LIKE A MAGIC TALKING AND LISTENING BOX.

You just don't like text messaging. We've come to the conclusion plenty of times.

I feel like this could turn into one of the classic Medic/SuperJon "fights."

No way. Air-drumming doesn't require you to look anywhere but ahead. You have to, at the minimum, take your attention away from the road for a few seconds to read and respond to a text messege.

Air/steering wheel drumming is a lost art.
