I missed the tail end of the story during the game last night. Seems like a pretty bad mistake made by the equipment guys.

ESPN is reporting that a few of the VT's players had their jerseys stolen out of the locker room just before game time. So GT lended them their white jerseys and they just altered them with a sharpie. Which I think is just them blacking out the "yellow jackets" script above the number.

I just looked the story up after seeing that photo....man....terrible

inside job.....if it takes some jersey stealing to get you fired up you have a problem..it was a road conference game. either the equipment guys left them or it was a ploy to get them pumped up. how about the nike swoosh backwards on the jerseys! hilarious!!

I agree with inside job...but are you thinking VT did it to themselves or do you think GT was doing it...I could see motivation coming from both

I think VT did it themselves...of course, it isn't the only time that an ACC coaching staff had to do something to get their team fired up for a game.

The nameplates are priceless! Why didn't they just leave they names off? They're not required.

I wasn’t watching the game, but according to several readers’ accounts of the game broadcast, Nike’s people specifically insisted that the Russell logo be blocked out (which I can sort of understand) and that the little swooshes be drawn in. If that’s true, it’s beyond pathetic, and goes a long way toward canceling out the playfulness. Nike didn’t manufacture those repurposed jerseys, so what exactly was the point of adding the swoosh? If your answer (or Nike’s) is, “Because Virginia Tech is a Nike school,” then you’re pretty much affirming what I’ve been saying all along — i.e., that the brand has become more important than the school or the uniforms. And that gives this fun story a bittersweet aftertaste.

yep if both teams do what they are supposed to do, it will be very entertaining.
