a-rod/red sox thingy

So a-rod makes his big announcement to upstage the red sox world series victory. Not a big deal to me, but it's funny to hear the reactions. So espn reports the story, then reports the controversy that they reported the story, trying to start some sort of fight or something. It was awesome, yesterday on the radio, the great Peter Gammons pretty much comparing sportscenter to entertainment tonight. I don't think I've ever disagreed with that man.

I found out Boston won and I've refused to watch ESPN since. I'll wait til Wednesday or Thursday when they get off Boston's nuts.

hahaha.....if they are riding the Red Sox nuts then I must be seeing things....
you turn it on and what are they talking about??? oh yeah that freaking yankees managerial job and a-rod...so therefore I will put it on...see the headline "Red Sox win World Series" but on the screen is something about the yankees so I flip the channel

I haven't watched it simply because of Bristol's need to talk Yankees/Red Sox every 5 minutes. Anytime Manny says something it's on every show 5 times with every analyst talking about it.

ESPN, in general, is a joke.
However, until someone comes along to rival them, it will continue that way. It's all about the Yanks, RSox, Pats, Colts and Kobe Bryant. Anything else isn't newsworthy in their eyes.

Hopefully, this whole A-Rod thing will be over in the next 10-15 days.

Why would you want to resign Lowell? Re-sign him, instead.

I hope your "hunch" is smart enough to know that the clients of A-Rod's agent usually don't sign until after the Winter Meetings (which is more than 10-15 days away).

to tell the truth...i really can't watch any of the shows anymore on espn....sportscenter, nfl live, baseball tonight, pti, any of it....it has turned into entertainment tonight....if there is a game on i'll watch but i don't watch sportscenter like i used to....once at night, once or twice in the morning...

I used to watch PTI and Around the Horn and then Sportscenter before I went to bed and I don't watch it at all. I can't take the same subject over and over and over and over.

It's been pathetic for a while. espn has an ombudsman so they can claim that they monitor/"audit" themselves, but nothing ever changes. And you can't get away from it, even the "news" updates on the radio are filled with opinions from whoever (dan davis, etc) is reading it. I thought maybe Fox would try harder to put up a decent competitor, but I just don't see the effort.
Maybe someone can convince Cuban to abandon his ridiculous football league idea, and put up some money for a new sports channel.

fox sports seems to really like and i really like the whole - mostly regional but some national shows type of set up....

The best thing the Red Sox can do is sign A-Rod.

Every day, I look for something to read while in the bathroom at work. Some days it is harder than others to find good material. Thank you for making this a good day.
