That's funny that you call the Big East overrated, since nobody has really rated them high this year. I think by now everyone on the board knows you're an acc homer, but honestly, has the acc lived up to it's hype this year? With miami and fsu both down this year, only a couple of mediocre also-rans have been able to take advantage, and bc is the only team that really warrants a lot of national respect. To me, the two conferences have been very similar this season, but at least people talk about the big east, the only thing I ever hear about the acc is Matt Ryan, and he definitely deserves it.

there was no hype to the ACC this year. everyone knew FSU and miami were not going to be that good.

Any time your conference is headed by BC--it's a down year. College football in general has really been defined by parity.

ummm....when Uconn and USF, teams that were D1A in the last 10 years are leading your conference, then you know it is overrated.....

my problem is the hype everyone gives to WVU....not really the big East

I am not an ACC homer...just a UNC follower

Honestly, the only two good conferences in the coutry are the SEC then the Pac 10........

don't be too upset if Ryan wins the heisman, he deserves it if they go undefeated

by the way.....what happened to UVA this weekend??

how is the big east over rated??? any time any of the teams in the big east to well the country is surprised...if they were over rated then it wouldn't e a shock to see teams do well....BC is ranked second, yes...but thats how college football is set up...its a very flawed system...

umm....look at all of their schedules....

USF was the only team to play an okay team outside the conference (Auburn, and won)

ok dickens...ill bite.....you are a FREAKIN IDIOT. this comes from someone whose team lost 37-10 this weekend. i have no idea what your obsession of hate is with UVA, but get over it pal. the hoos lost plain and simple. they are an average team who lost to a bad team...happens every week in college football.

hey...I'll stand by my team, they got it handed to them by a good team

Smooth you just don't understand because of your infatuation with the idea of a good UVA football team.... :D Easy big fella

you of all people should be supporting the idea of a weak overrated Big East and a good ACC...because it would help UVA, but thanks for keeping it shut....

explain how my team lost makes me an idiot???

who has said the Big East is better then the ACC...this is what I want to know....the Big East is always looked at as the weakest of the major conferences...I just don't know where you get overrated from

if you didn't know....I should have posted

the ongoing debate has been between myself and pbow (WVU fan who believes that they deserve to be in the national championship)

I guess I was just waiting for him to post

The BCS disagrees:

1 Ohio State 9-0 0.9756
2 Boston College 8-0 0.9559
3 LSU 7-1 0.8879
4 Arizona St 8-0 0.8493
5 Oregon 7-1 0.8390
6 Oklahoma 7-1 0.7920
7 West Virginia 7-1 0.7759
8 Kansas 8-0 0.7723
9 Missouri 7-1 0.6100
10 Georgia 6-2 0.5820

The 6 teams in front of them have a VERY good chance of losing.

I look at out of conference schedules for everyone except SEC and PAC 10

Big East
#1 USF---Auburn, UNC, Florida Atlantic, and Elon
#2 Syracuse---@Iowa, Illinios, Washington, Miami (oh), and Buffalo
#3 Louisville---Kentucky, NC State, Utah, Murray St, and Middle Tenn
#4 Pittsburgh---Virginia, Navy, Michigan State, Eastern Michigan, and Grambling
#5 WVU---Maryland, East Carolina, Mississippi St, Western Michigan, and Marshall
#6 Cincy---Oregon St, Miami (Oh), Marshall, San Diego St, and SE Missouri St
#7 Uconn---Virginia, Akron, Temple, Duke, and Maine
#8 Rutgers---Maryland, Navy, Norfolk St, Army, and Buffalo

it is hard to believe that WVU could be ranked high in the BCS....look at those schedules and compare that to SEC or Pac 10, even some Big 10 teams

WVU is an extremely talented team....but i'm not saying that WVU is the best one-loss team (LSU is, and they're the best team in the country too.) I know that everyone will disagree with me, but I really don't think OU is that great this year, they lost to freakin Colorado and barely beat ISU, other than that i'm not really that upset about the teams that are ranked ahead of us. But i do think BC will lose soon and hopefully OSU because they're not the two best teams in the country to me. Hopefully the teams ahead of us will lose so we can have a chance to go to the national title game.

Dickens knows absolutly nothing about college football, you can tell by his posts which make no logical sense at all.
Ohh yea I forgot one thing the Big East is better than the ACC. :D

pbow...tell me what is with my logic...yeah, I forgot, nothing

who will BC lose to?? I think they could lose in the ACC championship and that is it.......

BC has never sustained this type of run before. That's why everyone's saying they could lose a game. I'm like you. I don't see it happening until the ACC Chmapionship, if at all.

As a fan of the Big East, I can admit this: we beat up on ourselves, and we all lost out. WVU played a weak non-conference schedule, and then when they finally got challenged (USF was a trap game if there ever was one; on the road, national TV, in prime-time, up-and-coming program), they didn't know quite how to react. They are once again the top team in the Big East, after their dismantling of Rutgers on Saturday. And, its because of their DEFENSE. White and Slaton, I believe, will return next season. And, even if Slaton does go (White is a lock to stay), Devine is waiitng in the wings. He's going to be special! Next year is WVU's year to make a title run, not this one. They're defense will be very good, and their O-line will have had a year to truly mature. The Big East is, admittedly, down this year. But next year looks fantastic!

I had no doubt that USF would falter, though I didn't fathom twice in a row! It's just not the Big East's year.

However, if BC is your banner program in the ACC, and their only legit win is at VT, I think they'll have problems making it to the BCS title game. If LSU wins out, I think they'll jump them, even with one loss. Also, whoever said OSU had a good chance of losing, along with the other near the top of the rankings - Ohio State looked awfully good in Happy Valley Saturday night. And, I HATE the Big 10!

Yes, a very flawed system indeed!

ps - I'm really pulling for an Oregon/WVU game in one of the BCS bowls. Talk about two explosive teams. Wow, what a game that would be!!

C'mon now smooth, there have been plenty of times where you get on people not to be personal and you gave dickens a cheap shot there.
