I hope they take it this year as I was able to get to two games in person this year, since the Democratic National Convention shutting down Boston when I was up jacked me out of seeing them in person in the summer of '04. ("Ah, don't worry about it, Peter, they won't win this year, just like the last 86"...famous last stinkin' words.)
But I digress...
One at Boston's second homefield: Camden Yards. Saw Willy Mo Pena rip a grandslam (got it on tape by serendipity) and watched as 2/3's of the stadium in red and blue erupted in cheers for the BoSox.
One at Fenway about twenty rows back between home and third versus the Rangers. That dirty water tasted mighty fine then, and I hope that it tastes just as good in 5.
The big question is if the bats stay awake versus the Rockies...the stat from June is a little disconcerting...but the last few games have softened that stat for me.
(All said I would like to see a repeat of '04, but the realist in me nags me that it will be more nerve racking than that.)
