What do you think: Disrespectful or Ok?

On Saturday, after Presbyterian beat VMI, they took an impromptu picture in front of the VMI scoreboard, on the VMI field. The picture happened after the VMI Doxology was played. It started with a few parents taking pictures of their kids in front of the scoreboard, then more kids joining, then more, then it all became an impromptu team picture.

Here's the picture:

So, here's the question: Was this picture ok or was it still disrespectful? I've heard arguments on both sides of it from the PC and VMI boards, but I thought I'd pose the question on here.

nah, it's fine. But if I were a student watching this, I'd certainly try to be in the way. The keydets shouldn't have let it happen.

Spurrier did this to UNC in 1989 when his boo devils beat a sub-par Tar Heel team in the season finale at Kenan. It earned dook a share of the conference title.

Having said that, I wouldn't do it. Personally, I think it's tasteless. I would not like it even if the afore mentioned situation was reversed. I wouldn't want LU to do that to another opponent. Karma is a......well, you know.

Unless there is a championship involved it comes off as high schoolish. Then again looking at PC's head coach ....

Here is why i don't see a problem with it, and if my facts aren't straight please correct me.

- This is the first Big South win for Presby since joining the conference.
- They may not beat another 1-AA team all year, so why not enjoy this one ( in fact im not sure they have beatin another 1-aa team this year but i dont' know all the conference affiliations of the other teams on there schedule)
- its not like they can take many team pictures at home since they have only 3 home games all year with 0 being against Big South opponents.

sounds like something petty to get upset about to me...but maybe thats just me...VMI supporters always come off as overly sensetive anyways

Most of the VMI guys didn't care. I just wanted to see what everyone else though.

I'm with you Conn...I have no problem with it but if it was me at VMI...I'm grabbing the biggest flag I can find and waving it right in front of them

If it happened at LU, I'd be a little perturbed--but it's just funny that it happened at VMI.

This is that stuff that starts up rivalry, if anyone at VMI cares, and I think its a good thing. Presby has every right to do that. Now if we won at W+M, "You oughtta take that flag and stick it in the 50!!!!"

putting a flag on the 50 yd line or stomping on the opposing team's logo is disrespectful IMO. it does make for the beginnings of a bitter rivalry though.

I just tend to favor the Dean Smith approach - act like you've been there before and if you haven't, act like you'll be there again.

University of Georgia players celebrated on the logo at Vandy this weekend and Mark Richt went PSYCO. he basiclly left an interview to break it up then apologized on national television to all Vandy fans and Coaches. I agree that celebrating on the 50 of the opposing teams logo is disrespectful. this picture on the other hand... well like someone else said. it comes off highschoolish. but let them have their fun while they can. also. those players for UGA that were celebrating weren't even in the game. yet another thing i found funny.

Sorry smoothie it was more in reference to that cool dude we sat behind at W+M who was telling us what to do. I hope we see them again, the lady banging the pole on the seats was amazing

OK, so you can't even compare what PC did to what UGA did, or even to Steve Spurrier. First, Steve Spurrier's an jerk. Bobby Bentley is not. Second, UGA players deliberately and spitefully stomped on Vandy's logo in front of God and everyone. Our guys, prompted by their parents, took a photo after the post game doxology and after most VMI fans had left the field. Next time I hope Coach just gets everyone off the field, into the showers, and on the bus home to avoid controversy.

With which proposition? That Spurrier's an jerk or that Bentley is?

Depends on how Presby football does in the next couple years
