Since we discussed the charges, we must discuss the charges being dropped:
Assault and battery charges against Coastal Carolina University football player Jerome Simpson were dropped on Monday.http://www.myrtlebeachonline.com/news/l ... 11845.html
The senior wide receiver was accused of slapping and hitting his girlfriend, Melissa Deberry, in August. He denied the charge and Deberry also denied it despite calling 911 and filing the initial complaint.
Neither Deberry nor investigators with Horry County Police appeared at the scheduled trial at Myrtle Beach magistrate court Monday to pursue the charges, and Judge Dennis E. Phipps dismissed the case due to a lack of witnesses.
