Out of the 119 largest college athletic departments in the nation, who's tops in fund-raising this year?

Looks like the University of North Carolina Tar Heels knew where to find the cash.
Chronicle of Higher Education Survey wrote:1. University of North Carolina - $51m
2. University of Virginia - $45.2m
3. The Ohio State University - $39m
4. University of Florida - $37.4m
5. University of Georgia - $36.6m
6. University of Tennessee at Knoxville - $35.8m
7. Louisiana State University at Baton Rouge - $35m
8. University of California at Berkeley - $34.1m
9. Texas A&M University at College Station - $32.1m
10. University of Louisville - $30.6m
Complete survey summary and results can be found here: http://chronicle.com/free/v54/i06/06a00101.htm

Interestingly enough, the premise of the study is not to find out who's raising the most money, but what percentage of the participating schools' total fund-raising is going to support athletics. Every year since 1998, that percentage has increased (from 14.7% in '98 to 26% in '03), raising a lot of questions in the academic community at large. It should be noted, however, that this trend did not apply at UNC. Their current academic fund-raising campaign is at $2.2b.

Surprised to see UVA up there near the top. You just don't picture them being top-dogs in fundraising.

I think those figures will tend to vary a lot from year to year depending on whether a major project is in the works. I believe UVA is so high because they were pushing to pay off the new John Paul Jones arena.
