Hey guys, just wanted to mention that our boy Sam Gado is in for the Texans as both Ron Dayne AND Ahman Green are hurt...he just scored on a 2 yard run in the game as I was getting ready to put this up.

Sam didn't have a great day despite that TD run. He also had a fumble and those are the reason he hasn't been given more chances.

It was interesting watching the telecast of the Texans-Colts game as in addition to Samkon seeing action, we had another LU connection. CBS used TobyMac's "Turn on the Ignition" for their halftime highlight montage. At least I was smiling.

I am not as close to the story as you, but I thought Sam did a very good job. Yes he had the fumble, but compared to what they had it was great. It looks like he and Cook (?) are gonna battle it out. I thought Sam did a GREAT job with the blocking protections and knowing the offense. He had great reads and nice outlet routes. Not sure what type of receiver he is though. Oh and yes he is on my fantasy team.

BTW Did you see Ahman Greene's arms?? Was that an HGH tatto he had on his tricep?

Ron Dayne & Ahman Green should both be back active next week and that means Samkon probably won't get a gamecheck against the Falcons.

Yesterday was a golden opportunity to retake over the number two slot behind Ahman and he didn't capitalize. Hopefully he gets another opportunity. Since both Green & Dayne are injury-prone I would assume he would soon.

As for Jameel Cook, he is the backup fullback. The fact that he was the leading rusher (albeit with 15 yards) explains how woeful the run game was yesterday. Thankfully the Texans finally have a real QB wearing #8.

He got a lot of facetime praying for that dude who got hurt.

Cedric Killings is from Carson-Newman incidentally. We are waiting to hear the latest on his condition today. I'm on the air form 2-3pm CT and that will be a big subject of conversation.

Fortunately Reliant Stadium sits about 6-8 blocks from the world's largest medical center which boasts most of the best doctors in the world. He certainly was able to receive great treatment within minutes of the injury. The ironic thing is that Kevin Everett was in a hospital right by the stadium recovering from his own similar injury.

It almost seemed like Samkon was running with too much of a stutter--he's a downhill runner and he needs to hit the hole hard. Coincidently, he reminds me a lot of Ladell Betts from Washington. Probably not good enough to ever shoulder the load of a number one guy--but a solid backup, who can contribute from time to time.

Speaking of which, I really hope the next time the Redskins are in a goal line situation they keep feeding it to Ladell.

Ahman & Ron are both day-to-day right now. So it will likely be Sunday morning before we find out if Sam is on the field against the Falcons.

As a follow up, Cedric Killings was up out of his hospital bed and getting around his room today. That's a big answer to prayer.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Titans have waived injured rookie running back Stafon Johnson, the former Southern California standout whose college career was ended by a weightlifting accident that crushed his neck.

Johnson dislocated his right ankle and broke his fibula Saturday night in the Titans' 20-18 loss at Seattle. Before Tuesday's move coach Jeff Fisher had said Johnson would be out up to 12 weeks recovering from surgery.

The Titans replaced Johnson on the roster by signing Samkon Gado. Gado has played in 41 career games with 268 carries for 972 yards and 11 touchdowns. He has played for Green Bay, Houston, Miami and St. Louis most recently.

So they were showing a clip of the Tennessee Titans fullback and linebacker getting into it at practice and none other than Sam Gado was breaking up the fight. Way to go Sam.

Gado has scored 2 TDs in the last few minutes of the Titans game tonight, including one where he completely ran over a couple of Cardinals.

I really don't understand why he can't stick anywhere. I mean he's not a super star running back, but there are very few of those in the league these days anyway. In an era where most teams use a squad of RBs, I would think he'd be perfect fit in most places.

He needs to do a better job of holding on to the ball. :)

Fumbling and running tentatively hurt him here in Houston. Coaches have zero patience for either.

Being a very late addition I know Gado had a major uphill battle to win a roster spot, but I'm disappointed for him.
