...The new Lex, a born-again Christian, eagerly shares what he calls "confessions of a drug abuser." He is down-to-earth and contrite, even as he occasionally reverts to the larger-than-life character who won multiple championship belts and was one of professional wrestling's headliners in his heyday. He rails now against the dangers of drug abuse -- the pill-popping, the steroids, the recreational substances.

Lex Luger has had a hard life...all of course brought on by himself...but when he came into town last year and stopped by the station I couldn't say enough good things about him...you could tell he was a changed man and honestly just excited that God has given him the privalege of being alive....

great guy who has worked hard to become what he is, but mainly he was strong enough to turn things over to God...something a lot of pro wrestlers have a hard time doing

Although it seems lately that it is becoming more common. And you know the Benoit deal has shaken a lot of these guys up.

it is good to see lex change his life. hopefully the benoit death will change some other wrestlers lives.

Thankfully Lex escaped his demons, however, he's paid for it. He had a spinal stroke a few months back, shortly after appearing at LU actually, and has been paralyzed ever since. Good news coming a few days ago though:

Lex Luger is currently staying at the Spinal Rehabilitation Center in Marietta, Georgia. He is still paralyzed in both arms and both legs, but has begun to get feeling back in all four extremities. The official diagnosis was that he suffered a spinal stroke. He collapsed in a hotel room on Friday, October 19 when he was in San Francisco for a wrestling convention. Luger spent several weeks at Stamford Hospital before being flown back to Georgia.

yeah, its a sad story really. I have been trying to keep up with this whole story and its sad, but whenever who read anything Lex has to say about this whole situation he is in right now he is nothing but greatful to be alive and that God has given him the opportunity to be alive. He is truly a changed man, and that could be seen even with how incredibly happy he was the day he came into 90.9.

The latest I got off the internet on Lex Luger's condition. Continue to pray for him if you have already, if not start.

Nikita Koloff appeared on the Wrestling-Radio.com online show and gave an update on Pfohl. He said he's traveled twice recently to see Pfohl. He said Pfohl is still in a wheelchair after the San Francisco wrestling convention fiasco, and that for a long time, he was paralyzed from the neck down. After Luger spent a week at Stanford Hospital, tests determined nothing. He was sent to an Atlanta rehab facility where their testing also came back with no answers. According to Koloff, "Lex said his spinal column short circuited," but lately he's been making "remarkable improvement." According to Koloff, Pfohl can lift his legs and move his torso, and can hold a can in his hand. Koloff said Pfohl told him, "I've had 49 good years with these legs, and if I never walk again, I'll be the best wheelchairer for Jesus, you've ever seen."
