they go days without a post over there- so I tried to stir it up. Thanks to KILTZ for playing along.

only one guy- GOBLUEHOSE- really jumped in, but I think they're getting the hang of it.

I also appreciate the postings of a certain SWISS MILITANT. He seems to be on the ball.

Medic's post strikes at the heart of the issue.

we're hosting the calvinists this thursday at 7 in b'ham. Hopefully the baptist will prevail. BTW, are the bluehose still D-2 or are they officially FCS (1AA), Big South members now?

by SuperJon
Neither. They're an independent transitional team.

Hey hoops, we'll see you on Thursday. I'm thinking a 14-9 Calvinist win has already been....predestined.

your predicition may be right, but I won't be at the game. I don't live in b'ham anymore, I'm down in Florida, but I hope you enjoy your stay. If you get the chance, visit the beeson divinity chapel (the domed building right across the street from the stadium) and check out the decorations, including the paiting along the interior of the dome. (Don't worry, there's no calvin-bashing propoganda

How far of a drive is that for you and the presby fans?

Well, I might not be going. I used "we" as "the Blue Hose." It's a 5 hour drive from Tallahassee, but I don't have the gas money to go, being an impoverished grad student. It's maybe 8 or 9 hours from Clinton. Plus, I have class on Friday. If I were an undergraduate I'd do it, but it's either Birmingham or homecoming for me, so I'm happy to listen to the radio while doing my homework.

Hey, we're not talking about your game. We're talking about you guys whining over my video that was made in fun.

Wait, timeout, I will talk about the game.

I think I may actually pull for Presby. I can't believe I said that, but I really think I may pull for them in this game.

Back to PC whining.

Look, dude. None of us are being uptight. We know the thing was made in jest. It just wasn't funny. I'm sorry if you got miffed because no one laughed at the old "What is a Blue Hose?" joke. We've only heard it thousands of times, kinda like the chicken crossing the road thing. Because your joke wasn't funny we decided to make our own jokes. If you'll read our posts you'll see that we all say, "NOT OFFENDED (read also, not uptight)." Sorry the joke didn't take. Conversely, it seems like YOU need to un-whine a little. It was in our smack talk forum after all, in a thread started by one of your fans. :)

kilts, you're fine. I have no problem with you. There are others on that board that are so wound up it's not even funny. They're on their way to being VMI-esque. I don't mind if you didn't think it was funny, because there are people at plenty of schools that laughed like crazy.

Liberty seems to have a mascot crisis. The flames on LU's logo are shaped like an eagle. What's with the eagle? Way to be creative--every Christian high school in the country uses an eagle as it's mascot. Y'all are wearing out Isaiah 40:31. Now, you could say PC has a mascot crisis, too, because of blue socks and a anachronistic combination of a Pictish/medieval Scottish warrior. However, when you put blue socks on a medieval Scottish warrior with a 6 foot long sword, then that's another story. So the Blue Hose and the warrior are related. Flames and an eagle, not so much.
Eagles are traditionally associated with the concept of liberty, though I know that Presby is located in America where people might not be used to such associations. Though it also seems to be lost on you Presbos, a moniker and a mascot are not the same thing. Our moniker is "Flames" which is derived from our school motto, "Knowledge Aflame". Though it is somewhat unconventional, we are definitely not the only school who's mascot is not a direct representation of their moniker. In fact, the oldest public university in the nation has an unrelated moniker and mascot. You might not have heard of them though. They go by "Tar Heels" and have a ram for a mascot. You'd think that in 218 years they might have figured out that little "mascot crisis".

Dear Liberty students,

Please read that, or else, you will be embarrassed when we do the "Why are we the Flames?" video in a few weeks.

Signed,

Jonathan

I just made the drive from b'ham to tally last week, and it's a long drive up 231. If you'd rather watch the game for a few bucks, rather than listening to the radio, you can watch it via the OVC website at

I was listening to some idiots talking at the Tusculum Game last week...and this girl kept saying a Flame was a bird...and the kid was like, "No, its a flock of eagles!", they argued about this for about 10 minutes when I finally got annoyed and said you both are wrong...which I quickly regretted because they looked at me with disgusted faces and asked, "then why is our mascot an eagle"....and I basically went into the same kind of speech Scrocho just made....

well, they just said "whatever"....but their annoying conversation stopped, so I was happy

Sometimes being right isn't easy......but at least they learned something hopefully.

Great video clip guys, but I couldn't find a single Blue Hose reference on Wikipedia. So who wants to write one?
