Poor Cider Jim...he misses all the fun with the O's. I got home in time to catch the final three innings. The kid looks like he should be a freshman in college.

And he actually went the college route. He's from SE Texas and I have to tell you I didn't see this coming tonight. He's got nice stuff but tonight in the 9th he looked unbelievable.

He's from Lumberton as I'm sure you well know. And the Triangle is definitely in SE Texas unless you want to be considered East Texas (I can't imagine anyone choosing that designation). :lol:

What's interesting is that I heard he was not selected in the regular draft b/c he was invloved in a laptop stealing or scandal in college. So, everyone passed on him. Then in the supplemental draft the Sox took as compensation for allowing Pedro to sign with the Mets as a FA. Nice compensation.

Actually, it WAS the regular draft...he was a supplemental pick (the round that occurs in between the first and second rounds).
