I was thinking about this topic driving into the station today listening to the scoring updates.
I think I would put Appy on par with a strong CUSA team. In other words, good enough to be dangerous but if Michigan were to play the Mountaineers ten times they would probably win 9. But its that one in ten chance that is in play right now.

34-32 is the final thanks to a last second blocked FG attempt.

What a great game! This is good for all I-AA (or whatever we're called now) programs. Unbelievable that an unranked team could walk into the Big House, and beat a team that had high expectations for a BCS (Big Crummy Scam) championship on opening day.

G-W has their own issues to worry about right now in Athens, Ohio.

For those of you with DirecTv...The Big Ten Network (Channel 220) is going to show the replay of the game on Sunday.

I suspect it will also be an instant classic on ESPN Classic as well if they can get the rights.

So happy Michigan lost...all summer long my old RD was saying how "Overrated and overhyped" VT and the ACC ("A pathetic and weak conference" to quote him) was. Oh how I love rubbing this in his face.

Honestly, it'd be a stretch to find a true Michigan fan who was totally surprised by this. They haven't been a blowout team in a long time, and have been virtually unwatchable since '99. I honestly considered finding another team to follow after this, it's just been the same year-in and year-out, high expectations being killed by the coach.
I'm taking this as a blessing in disguise, finally an obvious excuse to part ways with Carr, perhaps one of the worst game-day coaches of any high-profile program. I just feel bad for Hart and Henne.
Oh, and a-train, today wouldn't be the best day to start gloating about v-tech.

this is how the conversation with my buddy went that told me they lost :
"34-32"
"appy runs a spread offense don't they"
"yup"
"i knew it"
appy st had a great game plan and executed....they took a page from tressel's book and it killed us...
yeah i really wasn't surprised....i've loathed carr for a long time i hope this is the straw...

hahaha, that looks and sounds like one of those cheesy educational videos from the 70s and early 80s I'd always see in my secondary education.
