According to Presby's board, their #1 or #2 receiver Larry Thomas is going to be declared academically ineligible.

I can't wait to read the coach's blog.
"I can see now that college academics are much different from high school."

"Dad gummit, back at Byrnes, a little "visit" to the teacher took care of all that!"

Speaking of the blog, read this:
With all the hype about our transition to Division I and our tough schedule, it is my hope everyone is realistic about our team. We have a team filled with 8 seniors and currently if we played today we would start one on offense and 2 on defense. Granted I am as excited as anyone but just because we won a lot games in NCAA Division II and I won a lot games in high school in the last few years does not mean instant success.
Our season should not be measured in wins or loses. We have several goals this year (I mentioned them in a previous blog) and most are based on building the program. Our coaches and players are focused on building a true team because we know the challenges are ahead for us.
Yea, way to garner excitement.

And this comes from Wednesday:
The Lord is stretching me with this job. I took the job knowing I needed to grow and be challenged. It seems like everyday something hits us from the blind side. Some of the things that hit us we can’t control but as I manage the job we must deal with the issues. One of the things we have to come to grips with is academic performance. We have lost too many players to academic issues. We have got to do a better job of keeping our players eligible. As a football staff we are working on making sure all of our players are eligible next year. I think it is going to take a team effort to make it happen.

I think PC needs to either hire a ghostwriter or get rid of the blog.

He has absolutely no clue what he's doing. Sure, he could be a great coach, great teacher of football, and all of that, but he just seems completely blindsided by this whole college thing.

This situation is fun because we get to read every thought the guy has. As someone who played high school football, I can't imagine going from that to what I read about in the 2-a-day article from a head coaches point of view. It would be so overwhelming. (which is why hiring a HS coach was dumb in the first place)

Yeah he is so burnt out, but they had to be expecting this. Hopefully there is someone in that system who has an idea of how everythings supposed to work bc he seems way over his head. Hopefully by next year he gets a good feel for what hes doing because this is an important time for Presby and they cant afford to stall right now.
