A Sea Of Red

The Futures game is on right now. It was 3-0 going into the bottom of the third and Justin Upton (first pick in 05) hit a shot to left field to make it 3-1.

We have a bunch of kids from the Houston area playing in the game so I am rolling on it at work. Its cool to see guys like Upton & Longoria who you always hear about but rarely ever see play.

I'm looking forward to Cam Maybin.

Funny story (at least, to me): in 2005, my high school team made it to the Western Finals. We were playing up in Black Mountain, right outside of Asheville, where Maybin was from. We had heard Maybin was so good but had never really seen him play. My coach asked the team we were playing's coach how Maybin really was and he goes, "He's pretty good. Nothing special."

A month later he's drafted 2nd overall and playing in the Futures game the next year.

Dang it, Maybin's hurt.
