Baseball's Gilmore Signed to New Contract

CONWAY, S.C. -- Coastal Carolina University has signed head baseball coach Gary Gilmore to a new contract, CCU President David DeCenzo and Athletics Director Warren Koegel announced today.


The terms of the new contract will keep Gilmore as the head coach at CCU through at least 2015, including performance incentives and raises through the term of the contract. It will also provide increases in the Coastal baseball operating budget during that time.

No, call it the "Two 50-win seasons in three years" effect. They were planning this before Royer stepped down.

But I'll bet the reported numbers in Toman's contract probably had some effect on the final negotiations.

I wonder if Storm is still the highest paid BSC coach now? He may need to renegotiate before he coaches his first game.

I think all these LU hirings are a desperate call to help to make LU relevant again. WU won the most conference championships this year.

Realist...you are absolutely correct. I think Dr. Falwell sensed that his vision for athletics at LU had stagnated. I hope Winthrop and CCU enjoyed kicking the Flames while we were down...because...with appologies to PanFan...
