We need billboards. PC has em and Coastal has em and they look great.

They cost money that could be used elsewhere in a budget.

Billboard advertising cost is minimal. It's one of the most cost efficient mediums you can use.

We have billboards every season. Normally the one right next to taco bell at the very least. Maybe it's just not up yet.

I can see both sides of the argument. They are neat to see, but I don't think it's a must have. For those that drive 460 east through Farmville, and into Petersburg, during basketball season there are always at least 1 if not 2 Longwood billboards. So annoying!

I don't think we need them in Lynchburg.

Four places:

460 between Roanoke and Lynchburg
460 between Lynchburg and Farmville
29 between Chatham and Lynchburg
29 between Lynchburg and Charlottesville

You could do it together on that part, or wait a little bit and get the people from the separate roads that don't travel on the connected part.

And JCManson is right...Longwood does do billboards. Lets just make sure we start referring to ourselves as LU on them-it irks me greatly when Longwood does it.

it is a good idea. especially between roanoke and lynchburg, and maybe even on I-81

any one who has taken a marketing class will learn that billboards can be a complete failure because most of the people that see them will not be within the products target marks. If they don't reach the target market, then they are useless. I read on a marketing website for some college that most of their professors believe that billboards are only effective when it directs you to a business or when introducing a new product. The Liberty football team isn't a new product, unless you are going to market the Rocco era as a new product.

also, you would have to consider how many people would be turned off by the billboards because they would find them annoying, as someone else mentioned, and considering the intense hatred there is in Lynchburg for Liberty and anything Falwell, there will surely be a huge backlash for billboards.
