Phil did not even practice yesterday...my sources on the scene said #16 is a deceptively long par 3...and Tiger tried 7 (short); 6 (short); and finally locked in with a 5.

professionals shouldn't get practice rounds. They should have to figure it out as they go along like the rest of us. They've already got a caddy to help judge.

also, I just read on a different board that hole #8 is a 288 yard par 3. That's probably the one you're talking about. That's ridiculous.

ok, #16 is apprently the more difficult one so you're info is correct. But #8 is still long.

Wimbledon doesn't start till later...but for those who do care, Rafael Nadal beat Roger Federer for his 3rd straight French Open. Justine Henin won on the women's side.

Phil shoots 77 to finish +11 and may not make the cut
Tiger currently EATING IT , +5 on the day and now +6 overall
not as bad as the +28 I saw earlier

glad to see mickelfat home for the weekend...his crybaby analysis of oakmont was hilarious

i think tiger will chew up badds early in the final round and go on to victory.
