I’ll be at the North Carolina-South Carolina super-regional this evening, but don’t expect any in-game analysis or updates. I’m not slipping in my coverage, though; blame the NCAA. Word came down today that the NCAA will no longer allow blogging from the press box during super-regionals because blogging “is considered a live representation of the game” and all live representations of the games are the exclusive property of the NCAA’s official rights holders.

That is completely stupid.

I wonder if the NCAA is going to ban cell phones from all games? Cause, you know, you could be calling in live coverage to a friend.

Or maybe calling home to your voice dictation software so it can write a blog entry from the ballpark.

Are we allowed to talk to other people in the stands about the game? Or would that be providing live coverage to them?

yeah, the idea of sitting in silence at a sporting event sounds great. i'm sure the atmosphere would be EXCELLENT.

on a serious note... that's a great point scorcho. they def. have to take that kind of stuff into consideration.

No they don't. They're the NCAA. They don't take into consideration logic.

This NCAA ruling is about as stupid as being on a beach vacation and spending your time posting on message boards...
...or spending your 23rd anniversary doing the same

the NCAA has a bunch of stupid rules and this one tops it big time.
