In NC, the 2A state champions in baseball (and probably best team 1A-4A overall) had three kids transfer into their program this year, two that were DI caliber players. I know you guys have talked about transfer rules on here before, but what exactly are they for Virginia?

this is the transfer rule per vhsl.org

5. Transfer Rule – You must sit out of VHSL activities for 365 calendar days following a transfer to the school unless the transfer corresponded with a family move into the school attendance zone. Eighth and ninth graders are automatically eligible wherever they enroll at the beginning of the year. (Please check with your principal or athletic/activities director for exceptions.)

Ok. These kids would've gotten around it because they're parents moved too. Two of the kids' parents just happened to get jobs in the school system.

Right.

The State Finals were great. It was a recruited team of 4-5 Division I players against a home grown team of 2-3 D-I players. It was a match up of the last 5 state champions (recruited team 02-04, home grown 05-06).

Actually, if the student has a change of address, i.e. "moves in" with a relative. they do not have to sit out. Also, eligibility requirements apply whether you come from a public school, private school or home school.
