Randy Tomlin wasn't exactly sure where he wanted to go, just that it was time for him to go...
"I just thought it was the right time," said the 40-year-old Tomlin, who is in his first year as pitching coach of the High-A Potomac Nationals. "It's an opportunity for me to get back to professional baseball and maybe some day get back to the big leagues."
...As for the future, Tomlin's playing it by ear, be it a professional or college gig. He won't rule out being a head coach some day, but only at the college level.
As for now, he's a pitching coach in the minor leagues and loving every minute of it.
"I enjoy what I'm doing," Tomlin said. "And I'm going to give it everything I have where I am."
