I am surprised this hasn't been posted yet....

Division I scoring leader Reggie Williams plans to skip his senior season at Virginia Military Institute and enter the NBA draft.

Williams, a 6-foot-5 forward who averaged 28.1 points, said Tuesday he will not hire an agent. He will have until June 18 to withdraw his name if he hopes to return to the Keydets. The NBA draft is June 28 in New York.

"I felt that I had a successful season and I would like to explore my options at the next level," said Williams, adding he intends to return to VMI to get his degree.

He didn't hire an agent, so he could still come back to school....He should stay in school....

I saw it but didn't think it was worth posting. He'll go to the workouts, get his name out there, and then come back to school just like Larry did last year.

yeah, I know...I just figured someone on here would have posted it already...though I think Williams probably has a better chance at making it to the nba then LB...simply because of his size

but you are right, he'll be back next year

Williams is an overall better player than Blair. He has more size, more skills, and is more athletic. He can play in the League, Blair can't.

Williams can play for 3 or 4 years max in the nba....I can't see any player in the Big South at this time playing extended years in the nba

you'll regret saying that in about 4 years

I doubt I'll regret it...I will be shocked and then I will admit I was wrong...until that happens I will stick with it

The key to Reggie making it to the league is his defense. He can score, we know that, but has has to rebound and play tough defense at the 3.

at 6-5 he'll play the 2 in the NBA...but you are right, if he doesn't become a better defender he will get nowhere...he is learning to play at VMI...I have a feeling the defense thing will come back and haunt him...which would explain my three to four years max perdiction

That all depends on if I use my degree or not. If I do, it'll go down significantly. If I don't, it won't..



Reggie will get a contract somewhere in the NBA after he graduates.

I was talking more about Bradshaw or Martin from Winthrop.....Williams could eventually play in the league

anyways....I still don't believe the Big South has any players that will make in impact in the NBA, Bradshaw and Martin included, they will make the league...but fizzle out....that is just my opinion...

of course i have been wrong before, it just doesn't happen very often

Well, take a look at Medic

I think Reggie is doing the same thing as LB. I think he will make the league, but will not play for long as others were suggesting.

Reggie = NBDL

at 6-5 he'll play the 2 in the NBA...

He's not quick enough to play the 2.

If he keeps posting at this pace, SJ may still be in school trying to get his degree in four years.

I'm pulling 21 hours this semester. I'm going to graduate in four years after transferring twice and lose over a semester's worth of credits.

So when did you guys become NBA scouts??? I think he will have a legitimate chance just like everyone else trying to get in, but if he can score, he can score.....

I believe that was the same line people said about Kevin Martin, a Western Carolina player from a few years back

I'd love to be the 12th man at the end of the bench making the league minimum for 3 years.

If Reggie was to graduate and play 3 years at the league minimum, he'd make a little over 2 million.
