Since Todd Lichtlighter has moved on to Iowa.
Now who do we know who just might be a perfect fit for that Butler job??????

Jeff Meyer? But the bigger question is, would he and RD make up so RD could come back as an assistant coach?
He might, if a certain BHS PG and 7' Nigerian center came with him.

NEVER HAPPEN. I suspect if RD had 3 seven footers it wouldn't help him get a job with JM. Now, if RD could teach JM to do a good cartwheel............................................MAYBE!!!!

I think GM would be a good fit for Butler. Do I have a second?

A familiar name from our original list of candidates already has been hired to replace Lickliter:
Brad Stevens

Jeff is not gonna go to Butler or anywhere else until he gets a chance to coach Gordon Jr for a while. I believe if IU does well enough that Jeff could get a major job. He is well respected in the college community right now. I watched 25 or 30 big named coaches and assistants come over to talk to him when we were standing in the NABC Expo over the weekend. Bill Raftery even told me to tell him hello for him. He also said to give him a "Kisssss" (Easy there Brokeback, that was an allusion to the catch phrase and nothing more). As for Gregg Marshall, well he is going to be in the big south for a while I think esp if they throw nearly a half a mil at him. No reason to leave. Insiders tell me that he would only leave for a job at USC or Clemson.

They must have been extremely impressed with his work as an assistant there. He's really young for a job of that caliber, and doesn't have much else on his resume.

I thought that way for quite a while, but now not so much. I certainly wouldn't be upset to see him go (and LU dominate!) but if he stays and we can take our program up a couple of notches under RM, it has the potential to be a really good rivalry, which could elevate the profile of the entire conference.

I'm looking forward to seeing LU pound a GM coached WU team, whether it takes a season or two to happen.
something about never beating one of his teams that would take a little of the satisfaction away if he leaves

Hey...LU did sweep a Marshall-coached WU team back in 2004...so it wasn't that long ago that it happened...

As much as i hate marshal I think its best for us and the big south if he stays put...it gives the big south a higher profile and in return help us if we continue to build in the right direction
plus its fun as a fan at games to have someone you dislike so much....
