The conference is going to be tough and a lot can change between now and pre-season play but here is my guess as of now for conference.

1. HPU
2. VMI
3. WU
4. CCU
5. UNCA
6. CSU
7. RU
8. LU

I think that is how things will look end of the year. Pre-season WU will and should be #1, they deserve it. Untill someone knocks them off they are going to be considered the best. As far as LU/RU thats a toss up, but I think they will both be at or near the bottom next season.

That's wrong.

Bad coach + good coach cancel each other.

Losing best player + ACC transfer help offset each other.

We finish no worse than 3rd. I won't predict how high because I don't know of eligibility things plus who we have coming in.

Are you really getting offended at that? HP has brought in better recruiting classes in D2 and should have been the preseason favorite in the conference, even when they were in D2 according to that board.

I can see hints of JaMarcus Russell in Will Richardson: powerful arm, big, and tough to bring down. But Jamie Childers is the closest to Thigpen's abilities . . . maybe better. So I'm not worried at all that Thig is gone.
