this 20-3 run is the result of some of the worst calls and non-calls i've ever seen. Did anyone just see that blatent goaltending by hansborough? The refs are simply looking the other way. What a load of crap.

those refs were overzealously and eagerly calling fouls on usc as soon as possible and only calling obvious hacks on the heels. It was one of the worst officiating jobs I've ever seen and it got progressively worse as the rally continued. Anyone rational person who looks at the footage objectively will agree with me.

USC had the game won and completely withered under pressure...good teams don't let bad calls effect them....yes you are right there were calls blown...but like I said good teams overcome that...

Just because I practice healthy debate doesn't mean I'm unhappy. The main reason i really posted this was for all the duke conspiracy theorists to challenge my claim and state the same points you did, so I could throw it back in there face when they started using the tired "Duke gets all the calls" line. I guess you could say I was venting but I also had a creative alterior motive

I hope you do realize Duke gets their share of calls....but I am not to the point where I think there is this mass conspiracy by the NCAA to have UNC or Duke win...this will be proven when unc loses to Georgetown...Georgetown is who I picked as National Champion....so yeah

hey, i'm not the only one saying it- all the analysts on espn agreed with. And speaking of georgetown, that walk at the end was pretty obvious, but i'm not complaining because I think they have a better chance at dethroning the tar "hells"

You Dook apologist, there were a lot of no calls on both sides, I watched the game -- There were times when Hansborough was getting hit harder than a girl at lacrosse party.

It's not UNC's fault they are a FAR deeper team than USC (to the point where USC had used SIX players in the game when their big guy went down). The same thing happened during the MSU game against Carolina, the other team ran out of gas.

Don't blame UNC for that.

the heels were down 16 points in the second half. i saw the game. UNC woke up in time. They were much more physical and aggressive in the second half and that propelled them to the win. Give UNC credit for crying out loud. Hoopsalone you got a lot of gull trashing UNC when your team lost in the first round.

The Lacrosse joke was so original and hilarious, especially when you consider that the entire case is about to be thrown out. Sportscritic- How does Duke's first round failure even relate to my point in any way?T That doesn't change the fact that the refs made some terrible calls and/or no calls.
Anyway, unlike certain posters I won't resort to the childish name-calling and referring to unrelated incidents.
For the record, i'm certainly not alone on this one. I admit, post headline was designed to draw interest, but I'm really not even trashing UNC, i'm trashing the officiating. I can't blame UNC for the incompetence of the refs.
All three analysts on gamenight said his fourth foul was ticky-tack and UNC was able to dominate the boards once he was out.If Hansborough had been in the same situation, you would be in here complaining the other way.
The bottom line is that refs are favoring the rallying teams, and the refs also missed an obvious travel at the conclusion of the georgetown game. If you don't believe me, watch the ESPN highlights and,as Ronald Reagan once said, "don't be afraid to see what you see"
I'm simply amused by the fact that the same group of people who are so quick to question the refs' integrity whenever duke plays are the first to rush to unc's defense when i make the EXACT SAME claim about the tar heels. And if any of you honest think I honestly care about third-grade name-calling tactics, don't waste your time. I will always call em like i see em, even if that requires the ruffling of a few feathers.

the thing is most rational people agree the refs were terrible....but if you are USC you can't put the blame on anybody but yourself when you are up by 16 freaking points you CAN NOT blame the refs...I can understand if it was a close game throughout....but it wasn't....

well...if you want to be completely objective USC completely disappeared...yes unc played better in the second half...but USC let the refs get in their heads and gave this game away....but you have to give UNC credit for being more aggressive, that is what won them that game....but you also have to admit if you are unc fan that usc completely fell apart as well....

HOOPS I am an OFFICIALS fan. You said that the "analysts" said it was a ticky tack foul. That begs 2 points: What experience, other than watching, do the analysts have in officiating? And they said it was a "ticky tack" foul, they didn't say it WASN"t a foul.
As for the Georgetown travel, that was discussed in the other thread. He DID NOT TRAVEL ON THE SHOT. The announcers were TOTALLY offbase with their rules interpretation.
For the umpteenth time their is no foul for "going over the back". Good grief, next you'll be complaining that the refs weren't tossing the ball up after every made basket!!! (It is in the original rules, FYI)
Ref's miss calls. No denying that. BUT fortune favors those who are more assertive and take the ball to the rack.
