Texans acquire QB Schaub

In a move that figures to have significant ramifications for the incumbent starters from both teams, the Atlanta Falcons on Wednesday agreed in principle to trade three-year veteran quarterback Matt Schaub to the Houston Texans.

It doesn't make a difference who is taking the snap behind center, you can't play quarterback laying on your back.

I think Matt Schaub is one of the best QBs in the league. The falcons are stupid. Vick has a ton of value for a trade. So they could have made a huge trade and wound up with the better of the 2 quarterbacks. I'm taking Andre Johnson as one of my primary receivers in fantasy ball this year.

I think it was a brilliant trade for the Texans -- they acquired a great QB. The problem is, they don't have the offensive line to keep up standing up for more than 3 seconds. Carr is a solid quarterback and was somewhat productive for them but the same problem that he had will hinder Schaub.

Maybe they should have gone after Vick. He can run away from the other teams unblocked Defensive Line. How did the Texans not go after Steinbach this offseason?

Don't be so sick -- ATL now owns three of the top-60 picks in the draft. They have some chips to perhaps move up and grab Peterson (if they see Dunn winding down) or stay put and grab LaRon Landry or one of the top-DE's to replace Kerney.

There is a very slight possibility that Quinn falls to them at 10, as well.

Thats true...if they got Quinn I'd feel better...but I was a huge Matt fan....i even picked him up in Fantasy when Vick went down and he def landed something like 38 points for me...great stuff

I'm glad for Matt. He definitely has deserved a chance at a starting spot for a couple years now.

But you are stuck with Vick even if you went back in time during the draft and picked up Johnny U to play on your team. He's too popular/exciting to not play him. Mora Sr. shouldn't have apologized for calling him a coach killer. I feel bad for Petrino.

Samkon is in Lynhcburg right now as far as I know. He'll be back with the Texans barring a surpring development as a backup.

I've been out shooting a story on a NHRA diva all afternoon and then came back to get our 6pm on the air. We had a crew flying back from Florida that bumped into Schaub at the airport here in Houston. Nice coincidence.

I like the trade. A change of scenery might do Carr some good. Because he is awful right now.

As for Brady Quinn being available at #10, why do you think the Texans traded out of #8 for Schaub?

I heard on ESPNUNEWS that the Texans will be trading David Carr, and Matt contract is for 48 millions dollars, not bad for someone with six tds and six ints in three years.
