PC '07
- 9/1 @ Furman
9/8 Pikeville (NAIA)
9/13 @ Samford (Thursday night game)
9/20 @ Western Carolina
9/27 @ NC Central
10/6 North Greenville (D2)
10/13 @ VMI
10/20 @ Coastal

Absolutely brutal schedule for a move-up team. Only 3 home games, no open date at all.

To say it is ambitious is putting it mildly. But the new coach is in the honeymoon stage on campus (despite some cranky alumni) and he'll need that goodwill to endure the losses this fall.

I had heard over on the PC board and the D2 board that Bentley flunked his NCAA recruiting test. Anyone know of any truth to that? If so, that's a big-time oopsie.

He's never had to concern himself with the recruiting issues. But that's why you hire a compliance officer and bring in some coaches with experience for your staff.

I have a hard time even picking out 4 wins for them. I don't think they win against any D1 teams.

3-8 ... although they could potentially win up to 5 if the new offense comes together and they pull off a few upsets.

agree with SMOOTHIE, though I wouldn't be SHOCKED to see a mild upset in one of their D I games.
its not like they're a community college or anything.
(See NATTRELL: I can be positive

ok- these guys seem cool, but man- some of them give Chant fans a run for their money.
Something in the water down there, I think

Just researching other teams' schedules. Tusculum will be playing at Liberty on 9/1 at 7:00, the same time that we play Furman.
We should have a pretty good indication of where we are this season after those two contests. Tusculum is always very good along with Furman - one Liberty fan has mentioned that they will probably be Big South conference champs - we know PC is excellent after the recent spring game. (Just looking for some commonality with teams we have already played).
Can't wait till September for this season to start.
(Edited 4/26/07, after reading SlyFox's comments (don't want to make Liberty folks mad as we obviously haven't played them yet) and yes, SlyFox is correct about Furman - in 2004, Furman could have beaten PC 100-0 if they wanted to - we are going into 2007 with a new team and a different approach plus we have their confidence up thinking this is going to be easy - that's when they are most vulnerable. I'm still ready for this season to start).
