UNC Vs DUKE on 3 ESPN's

I just thought it was pretty cool that this year's final game for Duke will be on 3 ESPN's....
ESPN - Reg. Game Coverage
ESPN 2- Above the Rim Coverage
ESPN U- Split Screen with the game on one side and the Krazies on the other
I'll be watching the ESPN U game simply b/c there is nothing better than those fans, hearing what they chant and how organized they are it's truly brilliant...you dont know how bad I want to be there and I'm still working on being able to go!

This is the dumbest thing I've ever heard of. You all are gonna call bias or homerism on me but nobody outside of the ACC footprint gives a rip about this game. The best thing about ESPN is that there's a ESPN2 that I can watch when I don't like the game that's on the uno. Sure, I watch parts of this game or even the whole thing if there isn't a better game on, but who wants to watch a camera that's fixed on the freaking backboard? Don't even get me started about the krazy cam.

if they were doing this for the Uconn Vs Nova he'd be buying stock in ESPN saying there's some brilliant minds behind the scenes

ha, I knew you'd say something like that. But they don't even do this kind of junk for the Superbowl. Honesly, I'm always cursing the TV when they're on any other view than the half court shot. My biggest pet peeve is having to watch an entire possesion throught the court level camera.

did you enjoy the "This is SportsCenter" when they show you on ESPN the reg. SportsCenter and on ESPN 2 they show the behind the scenes production part? I love that kind of stuff, they've done it before for a football game too

With ESPN's fixation on th Huskies, I'm surprised they aren't the ones getting this over-the-top treatment.
I know you motorheads on here know that NASCAR has done this type of deal quite a bit over the past few years.

well with NASCAR that just makes sense if you're paying for the league pass or whatever the NASCAR equivolent is. With such rabbid fans loyal to 1 dirver, its the type of sport where you can stand to have a channel devoted to each one. The only fixation by on the huskies is the lazy ones that don't want to travel further than 30 minutes to get a story. Why is it that we have to watch Duke vs cupcakeU 3 or 4 times per year? They think that's what the people want to see. As for the idea, I think this whole thing is a good idea if you're buying some kind of sattelite package. I would really like to watch any game in any sport and be able to flip the channel and see through the camera that fixed on the coach and the bench. NCAA, NFL, NBA, whatever. It's definatly cool. But I'd rather something else be on ESPN2 in case I don't want to watch that game.

UNC/Dook is one of the biggest rivalries in sports. One team can be 8-20 and the other can be #1 in the nation and the 8-20 team still win. That's how big this rivalry is.

I was more interested in the UConn/Villanova game- though we got pounded this week.
emphasis on the "this week"
just wait for the tourney. Just like the old days when 'Nova knocked off Georgetown to win it all ('85, '86 or something- SCAR, when was that?)

That may be, but that doesn't mean that anybody outside of NC cares. Just like I'm sure you don't care if the sox beat the yankees, or if Texas beats OU, or if Michigan beats OSU. I just think it's dumb that ESPN is putting all of their eggs in one basket. What sponsers paid for commercials on ESPN2? Nobody's going to be waching the stupid basket cam.

I disagree. I enjoy watching the Yankees/Red Sox because of the passion that's there, the same thing with Texas and Oklahoma. I was at a place at Broadway at the Beach (I'm not calling it a "pub" because I go to Liberty, it'll just be a place) and was eating dinner with my dad during a Yankees/Red Sox game and there were some firemen there from NYC. It was one of the most fun times I've ever had watching a baseball game just watching those guys.

Yeah. Yup. Uh huh. I'd have to say duke pretty much sucks. Well, yeah, so does unc. Tell me when the last 3 minutes comes up so I can watch unc fall apart and blow any chance of giving duke another much-deserved loss. Oh, wait, never mind, I've already seen that one before. It's kind of like asking yourself if you should switch the channel to cbs when you always know it's going to be some csi.

Leave Texas-OU out of this equation. The more camera angles of that fall classic at the Cotton Bowl the better.

where on earth did you find that duke logo? did you look for the goofiest one you could find?

Fellas, stop the whinning and the moaning and (fill in the blank) UNC and Dook will always be bigger than any other college b-ball rivalry because of the tradition and the fact that ESPN loves the ACC, which I can't blame them for that... Just sit back and enjoy the game.. on top of that what other game do you want on ESPN2 (Jacksonville Prep vs Gonzaga Christian) Roy has us playing some great basketball Dook is gonna be next to fell Roy's wrath.

With Roy's patented end game strategy in place, I'm sure Duke will try to keep it within 2 at the end.

Well chant what you want.... I would not want to play UNC right now they have just kicked the crap out of N.C.ST, Maryland and boy did I have the pleasure to watch my boys just make the Boo-who's last night look like a middle school team... And we were chanting Go to He!! Dook go to He!! nothing like over 20,000 chanting that, O yeah by the way I heard that FSU beat Dook last night any truth to that.... going to be a great one Saturday night

Redick's legs are tired, Dock is hurt, Melch is worthless, and Duke has no bench. (K has refused to play them for some reason. There's some talent there) UNC by 7

I have always called UVA the boo-who's since I was a kid... I really don't hate them that much anymore seeing that I work for them...

hey gmtm, are you patrick downey? (I think that's his name) I thought you were one of the other sports guys but it just crossed my mind the other day when I saw him interview Dunton on TV, that you could be him.

Im gonna come in right here and say...no. Pat has been a USC fan for as far back as I can remember. why would Pat use a UNC banner in his signature if he was a Southern Cal fan?

Well I'm not familiar with every LU radio personality's favorite college teams. And who is a USC bball fan? I've never heard of such a thing in this part of the country. Anyway, you answered my question.
