UNC, Maryland, and Uva are the only teams worth anything in the ACC...and i'm still not sure why the heck duke is an automatic lock for the tourney.

Ummm....maybe because their rpi is top 20?!?! As much as I hate Va Tech, how can you say they aren't worth anything? And BC?? You are out of your mind!

pbow...stick to wva. sports my man. there are at least 3-4 more ACC teams you forgot that will make the big dance. duke is there because of their SOS, their RPI, and the fact that they were at least .500 in the ACC. cmon pbow, i know you are smarter than that!

You sure about that? Cause Maryland is getting smacked down by Miami right now. MIAMI. Come on.

what a piece of garbage

Re: %#$ HESS
You always know we're going to be in for a battle when you hear Karl Hess is the lead official

Re: %#$ HESS
die. think im joking?

Re: %#$ HESS
I want to punch him in the testicles.

Re: %#$ HESS
I want to slam him down on a breakaway.

Re: %#$ HESS
I want to eat his children!

Re: %#$ HESS
Most inconsistent officiating I have seen all season. A MAryland player needs to be "Hansboroughed" before we get the whistle.

Well, Miami does end up with the big upset over Maryland and will face BC tomorrow.

Duke proved tonight that they are ridiculously overrated, they don't deserve to be in the top 25, and they dont deserve a spot in the NCAA tournament. And since when did being .500 in conference make a team a lock for the big dance. The only team that Duke beat that is ahead of them in the conference standings is BC. And that is a fact.

yeah...I shake my head when I see Duke in the top 25...one of my best friends is a huge Duke fan and even he agrees they are over rated...and he hates McRoberts...its funny to get him going

well postman, i never said duke deserved to be in the top 25. they are overrated, but they deserve to be in the tournament. i guess pbow has some hatred towards duke and the ACC. what i said was factual, and in the end duke will be in the dance. being at least .500 in the ACC combined with SOS and RPI gets them in. probably between a 7-10 seed. please bring more than your hatred for a team to the table when making an arguement pbow. :D

what an opening night!! all the higher seeds lose, and all were very good games. it makes me very nervous for tonight!!

Ugh. I can't even defend Duke tonight.

It's time for Mr. "Intangibles" McRoberts to stop relying on potential and to start stepping his game. There is no reason he shouldn't be taking, at a minimum, 15 shots per game. Losing Henderson really hurt in this one, we could have used his offense. Good to see Marty get some PT though, the guy has some serious game and I'll never understand why after coming out swinging in the first half that it took K 12 minutes to get Marty in during the second half.

The sad thing is, if McRoberts goes next season we're looking at a frontcourt of Kyle Singler and Brian Zoubek. I haven't seen a softer pair since Fred Smoot and Deion Sanders teamed in the backfield for the Redskins. Even with McRoberts coming back, you're not adding a whole lot of strength down low. I miss the days of Sheldon Williams and Carlos Boozer.

I forgot all about that, ha.. Next time you're in town, I'll take ya out to dinner or something.. even though they still blow, it will forever be the Duke Invitational Tournament.

As Virginia fans would say, "there's always next year, right?"

I've never ever like Duke but I'm a fan of Marty's. I really liked his game last year when he played a few times. I couldn't understand why he didn't get more PT. I read something about his D being bad but hey, you gotta develop your players sometime. Rotting on the bench doesn't do much. I wish he would transfer because it looks like all of the younger guys are already ahead of him.
