CAA Championship is on TV (ESPN) between George Mason and VCU. It's a nasty game so far.

The big question: If GMU wins, does VCU get/deserve an at-large bid?

Ok, now that VCU won, my next question is: does ODU and/or Drexel get an invite?

I went to the quarter's. I thought VCU was on the outside looking in if they lost, but they won so it doesn't matter :) ! It was a very good game. Eric Maynor was the man at the end! I was watching the game last night, and I said to my wife oh this game is over, and as soon as those words came out of my mouth Maynor stole it scored, and got fouled to cut it to 2 with under 2 minutes to go.

I think at least one will get in maybe 2. Definitely Drexel, and then either ODU or Hofstra. I think those last 2 may be out though.

If the CAA only gets 2 you have to give it to the boys from Philly in Drexel. 14 road wins! Truly amazing in itself and they won at Syracuse, Villanova and St. Joes even though the last 2 they didn't travel very far. More like a road game in high school I guess. Smoothie I ended up not going to the CAA after a few folks bailed on us. Manson couldn't get another man pass for Sunday from Mrs Manson :P and some others pulled out at the last minute. Monday night was sold out so we couldn't get tickets....I am going to the VHSL State tournament at VCU tomorrow. Manson you need to go there with me man...Jason Allison will be there too I think.

Scar, I haven't heard about it. Where's it at? Siegel? What time? Let me know maybe I can check it out. As far as my wife, well as many sports as I watch all I can do is hope that she will go with me to one game a week  . You know I have to keep her happy man.

Ugh.

I loathe the day when I must share the remote control.

I believe it is at the Seigel Center. I just go where Jason Allison tells me to go  MRS SCAR likes football and basketball so I am all set. I think tomorrow will just be the boys though so Mrs Manson has an out if she wants. I'll call you later Manson.

Hey Scar, you'd have Drexel in ahead of ODU? Their RPIs are nearly identical, but ODU finished ahead of Drexel in the CAA standings and swept the season series between the two teams. Yes, Drexel's road record is impressive and the wins over Cuse, St. Joes, and Villanova are decent (though none of those teams are even tourny locks, and St. Joes isn't sniffing the Big Dance), but ODU did beat Georgetown in DC. I'd think the league standings, the head-to-head record, and the bigger 'good win' helps ODU out in this case.

WEF - Don't let facts get in the way of Scar's Philly love.

You said it Sly! But really, you could say the same thing about Hofstra and Mason last season that you are saying about ODU and Drexel but clearly Mason was the right choice looking back.

Drexel should be in. They have two big wins over Villanova and Syracuse, both on the road. ODU has no major non-conference victories to speak of. Also, Drexel lost to the better team in the CAA Tournament.

Georgetown on the road is not a bigger win than two middling other Big East teams??????

Georgetown doesn't count as a major non-conference victory?

Whoops, sorry, my fault. I'm still sticking by what I said before though, Drexel beat two Big East schools on the road, back to back, both of whom beat Georgetown.

ODU is a strong bubble team, and they could get in. However, if I had to choose, I would choose Drexel.

A couple more upsets in conference tourneys like last night with Wright State taking out Butler, and the CAA won't get any at large teams in.
