Winthrop's title run

Today I've heard a lot of "Winthrop has a Yankee-like run in the Big South." and it got me thinking.

Winthrop has been great for the last 8 years and the Yankees are a likely team to compare them to. However, at this point in time, would they be more like the Yankees in that they've dominated the Big South, or would they be more like the Braves in that they have dominated the Big South but haven't won in the NCAA tournament?

I'm not trying to talk smack and I don't want it to turn into that. We've got a week until more tournaments start and I'm trying to get a conversation going on here.

i get your point...people are calling them the yankees of the big south, so it works....I have nothing more to add really...but I think the yankee analogy works...but I get what you're saying with the Braves....but even the Braves won a world series championship...

Then I guess our women would be the UCLA of the Big South.

I immediately that it was a reference to Sherman. Sorry, all of the Civil War talk had it on my mind.
