WU at large

People keep saying "2 teams in the tourney would be great". I know it's debatable, but am I the only that feels if they lose to #313 VMI they're sitting at home the rest of March?

You're not the only one, but I wouldn't be too suprised if they did make it. It would definitely be a close call.

You heard it here, first...
...if WU loses they will be NIT-bound.

I agree it would be close. I doubt WU would get in, though. I'm not a big fan of "At-Large" bids anyway. I think teams should have to win to get in to the NCAA Tournament.

Where is WEF??? I can't see WU not getting in if they lose tomorrow. I heard one sports analyst say a 8 o 9 seed. On ESPN.com there is a poll and right now NCAA or NIT see results below
28) Winthrop (22-4, 14-0 Big South; RPI: 68; SOS: 257)
68.7% NCAA
31.3% NIT

Bracketology had them at an 11-seed vs Notre Dame earlier in the day.

I'm here....
Honestly, I have no idea what would happen if WU lost tomorrow. Part of me sees all of the media attention and stuff and thinks WU can get in...but another part of me sees that the best part of WU's resume is that they no bad losses (all four losses are to teams that are currently ranked & have top-15 RPIs). A loss to VMI takes away that part of their resume. Also, if WU wants to be an at-large team, they need to be treated like an at-large team, and what other at-large team loses to a team that has an RPI of 300+?

If you listen to evey expert on ESPN, they all say it as a fact that they are in. I just heard Doug Gotleib (sp) say that the big boys on the bubble better root hard for the Eagles at 2 PM on Saturday. I can't wait to see the game. Boy do I wish I was calling it! Oh well.
