that was a bad day around here. My medic unit was not needed, but it was pretty horrible to listen to on the radio as it was going down. Couple that with the fact the 2 good friends of mine were the first-in PD units, the first-in medic lived just down the street and was concerned about his own families' safety, and my own mother lives less than a block away from that scene. I was able to get her on the cell and advised her to move indoors- as, at the time, the shooter was still loose on foot.
Unfortunately the boys had to take down their own dad (in self defense). It is a horrible situation, and was the second domestic violence killing w/in a week in this area. Needless to say a bad month back then.

By the way- the kid in the story attends the same HS our guy Greiser came from- Pennridge High.
That story is crazy

Yeah i read that this weekend and i was blown away by the courage that kid had to show by killing his own father, can't even imagine having to relive that in my mind every day. Good to hear they are doing well with athletics though.

I do hope that he did well in the wrestling tournament this past weekend. It would be a truly inspirational story to see this kid win a state title after a situation like that

The challenge for the kid is really going to come after he doesn't have the wrestling to focus on. He's shown amazing strength but it gets even tougher when you have more free time.
