I'm not sure if anyone really heard or saw this already, but this is a video of the No. 1 high school team in the nation Huntington High School of Huntington, WV playing against Capital High School of Charleston, WV. OJ Mayo, who is the No. 1 high school player in the nation, got thrown out of the game in what I believe to be a complete scam, but in all honesty I never have had the best relationship with the referee who was the cause of all this, Mike Lazo, so maybe my opinion is a little jaded. OJ after the game was suspended for two games, the first of the two games was against nationally ranked Artesia HS of California. A circuit judge yesterday then temporarily overturned the athletic commisions decision for the two-game suspension, Huntington then went on later that night to defeat Artesia with the help of OJ Mayo.

this is the video of the two technicals (notice no players from Capital got any technicals, and also OJ's mouth does not even appear to be moving when the second technical is issued.

What a travesty! What an injustice! This shall not stand! This shall not stand! This SHALL NOT... oh, wait, I'm forgetting something. What is it?

Oh, yeah! It's high school basketball. And I don't care.

It is high school, but considering that they have more games on national tv then most DI college teams...I think we can care.

Check out this guys mixtape videos from some of the games...Huntington is nasty

The lustre on OJ has been smeared for some time now. The only reason he is in Huntington is because he couldn't stay out of trouble in Cincy. I see him setting up to be a flop of collosal proportions.

For the record, he's no longer considered the top prospect in the Class of '08 by most services. He's defeinitely in the Top 5 but he no longer is considered the second coming of LeBron.

He made some solid contact with the ref, but yeah it looked like he took a dive. But, you absolutely can not make ANY contact with an official. It is made easy to help everyone understand: Since Touch starts with a T if you Touch a ref you GET a T. It was his second, he should have been tossed and should have sat out the mandatory two games. VHSL has a one game policy for two T's and a two game policy for anything more serious.

As for OJ, I put him the the category of another famous initial first name havin player J.R as in Rider.

At the top WV has a good team. Just because a state doesn't have a team ranked in the top 25 doesn't mean they're not good in basketball. Look at how many players from the state of NC are in college. Sure, it's not as much as some, but it's more than WV.

West Virginia + High School Basketball.

why do I have a mental image of a tall pasty white kid with pink eyes wearing cutoff overalls and a straw hat- shooting at a peach basket screwed into piece of 3/4 inch plywood and nailed to an oak tree?

(maybe wrong on the type of tree- haven't spent much time in West Virginia)

I can't find the article or link at the moment, but last year SI had an article discussing basketball hotbeds. The results were fairly obvious, NYC, Detroit, etc. However when they ran their analysis taking population in to account their findings changed a bit. They found that the triangle puts more people in college and in the league than any city in the country per capita. NC has very solid hoops.

On a per capita basis French Lick, Indiana is the most fertile hotbed of all time.
