Scuttlebutt on the VMI board says that a few players have not returned.

#14 Kyle Hughes, QB Fr. - backup QB to Wilson this past season and heir-apparent to the starting job in '07.
# 7 Wilson Ileso, DB Fr. - played a few minutes in all 11 games. 11 tackles on the year.
#43 Ryan Stratis, DE Fr. - 29 tackles on the year.
#77 Ty Wood, OL Fr. - Did not play.

odd, considering they actually played pretty respectably last year- esp v. LU and CCU- arguably the top 2 teams in the league by far.

sounds like some were'nt buying into the coaching staff's vision? better off without them, then- I guess.

VMI is a tough place to go to school, especially for freshmen. It is a military academy (hence the name, I suppose) and it isn't for everybody.

Smoothie could offer plenty of insight in this regard. I can tell you they picked up a letter of intent from a 7-footer in mens hoops.
