Should there be more to the suspension than this?? Did everyone see this?? This was worse than Carmelo's sucker punch, and he got 15 games compared to Nichol's 9.......Why has nobody made a big deal about this??

1. I noticed (then again, I care about hockey)
2. Most people don't
3. Hockey is renowned for fighting- people expect it (though not to THIS extent)
4. you're right, though. completely outta line

The NBA has a long history of violence as well......but, it came out as the collapse of the NBA....I know the NHL has not had too many Artest incidents, but something more should be done

last big fight- I think in Canada (?) the local PD filed assault charges. IMHO, that's EXACTLY what should be done.

if I hit you like that in the street, that's what would happen- why should it be excused in the context of pro sports?

Actually the last person who tried that on me ended up in the hospital.

the joker who did the vicious hit a few yrs ago was todd bertuzzi. not many people follow hockey on the board except for me and medic, but nichol, should be banned the rest of the year like bertuzzi was.

I heard Wilbon on PTI said it was a race issue....even though I want to disagree, I am agreeing with him.

wilbon has played that race card before...i do not think so. racism exists in all sports, but i have to disagree here.

I know he does that, but not as bad as Stephen A. Smith....this is just the first time where it is hard to come up with a few more conclusions why Nichol was only suspended for ten games.

stephen a. used to be pretty bad, but he has toned it down quite a bit, but agreed that the suspension is very light......it makes zero sense to me, but the powers that be in toronto have been known to make some pretty bad decisions.
