2024 NCAAF Playoffs

Here is my prediction:

1 Oregon
2 Georgia
3 Penn State
4 Boise State
5 Notre Dame
6 Texas
7 Ohio State
8 Tennessee
9 Indiana
10 Arizona State
11 SMU
12 Clemson

(I think if Clemson comes in at 11, BAMA is at 12... but I don't think that will happen).

My prediction:
1 Oregon
2 Georgia
3 Penn State
4 Texas
5 Notre Dame
6 Ohio State
7 Tennessee
8 Boise State
9 Indiana
10 Arizona State
11 Clemson
12 SMU

However, I think Tennessee would beat OSU and ND if they played neutral today. I just don’t think the committee will flip them now.

So, I think that would mean these matchups:
Byes to Oregon, Georgia, Boise State and Arizona State
12-SMU @ 5-PSU .. winner vs. ASU
11-Clemson @ 6-Texas .. winner vs. Boise
10-Indiana @ 7-ND .. winner vs. Georgia
9-Tennessee @ 8-OSU .. winner vs. Oregon

I can see an easy argument for Bama being in over SMU, which is Bama has wins that SMU does not have on their resume. And wow, if SMU was first out two years in a row!!

I predict the committee chairman will tell more lies when he meets the press today, than the Iraqi Information Minister told during the Gulf War. There's a 99% probability that integrity will be absent from that room today.

Alabama and South Carolina should be in. Indiana and SMU should not be in

Ballcoach, after all these years I still have absolutely no idea if you’re a troll or not…and I kinda love it.
Well done comparing a college football playoff selection to war.

If Alabama doesn't get in they have nowhere else to look other than Vanderbilt and Oklahoma to lay the blame. They did it to themselves with 2 very bad conference losses.

Alabama's wins should trump their losses. Heck, there's only 1 undefeated team, and Oregon hasn't really played anyone but over rated Big 10 teams. If Oregon had played Alabama's schedule, they'd have 4 losses

I was comparing lies, that will be told today, to those told by Iraqi information minister

False.

I hate the attitude of the Big Ten as much as anyone.

But if you don’t even watch them, your opinion has no basis in reality.

Ballcoach…you still alive out there?

I have no idea what the right thing to do was but it’s surprising to me the ACC got 2 teams in. I guess the way things worked out it had to happen but I don’t see how the ACC or Big 12 could deserve 2. (I know the Big 12 didn’t get 2 but just saying)

I’m in the minority here but I think Army should have gotten in over Tennessee and probably ND. But I know ND drives dollars.

ND mauled Army. No way Army deserves a spot over them.

Completely valid point. ND also lost to NIU…..
Tennessee looks to be the logical replacement. It would be a great story for College Football. The hype of Army Navy next week would be even greater than normal. I totally understand the decisions made but I really would have liked to see them in

I agree. I think it would be great and I would love to see any of the 3 service academies in. Would be tons of hype surrounding it.

Army should be in before Indiana and SMU. At least Army is conference champion, with 11-1 record. No one can say Army played weak schedule, Indiana and SMU didn't played anyone

Point of Order:
-Army played a weak schedule: No SEC teams. One ranked team.
-They lost pretty badly on the road to the one ranked opponent they played.
-Army is basically Indiana.

With the committee saying that SOS doesn't matter, look for P4 teams to schedule lots of G5s in the future, especially SEC teams. This may bode well for Liberty. Hopefully we can get a couple P4 teams a year.

Having a strong schedule is not the full equation; it is only part. You have to win.

You have to win the games you’re supposed to win. Indiana won every game they were supposed to, decisively. Not a bad loss on their resume.

You can’t go to Nashville and lose to Diego Pavia. You can’t go to Norman and get crushed by a bad team! SMU doesn’t have a bad loss on their resume. And they’re in.

I applaud Bama for going to Wisconsin. It just sucks Wisky was down this year. But when you lose to Vandy and Okie, it cancels out too much of the positive.

Bama is ranked ahead of several two-loss teams. So SOS absolutely DID count for something. It just wasn’t enough to over come a couple of U-G-L-Y losses on their resume. Bama has no one to blame but themselves.

“But Bama would beat SMU if they played head-to-head!” Maybe if it’s September 28th. But definitely not if it’s November 23rd.

I see several posts on Twitter pertaining to SEC droping P4 games and schedule CUSA, MAC and MWC teams. Unless CFP knuckleheads make some changes, this could come a reality.

How many more P4 games can SEC schools drop? They play significantly less P4 games than the other P4 conferences already. Nick Saban thinks they should be playing more.
